The University of Louisville offers a curriculum of speech pathology classes as a master’s degree program. The curriculum has full accreditation from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. A preparatory phase is available for students who have not previously taken communication disorders courses. Students with previous speech pathology education will enter into a core curriculum. Classroom instruction is combined with the use of practicum sites to give students opportunities to apply their clinical knowledge. Students will have the opportunity to work in schools, hospitals and clinics. Instructors will supervise as students complete swallow studies and hearing assessments. The University of Louisville has several partnerships with clinical externships to provide students with many opportunities.
